Salvia is a gorgeous upright and compact perennial that looks great throughout July. Its tall slender spikes display long-lasting purple, blue, violet or white flowers in the summer months. Salvia is a real favourite with wildlife and is particularly favoured by butterflies and bees. This cottage garden staple is easy to care for and a lovely splash of colour!

 

Where to plant

Salvia are perfect for beds and borders and prefer full sun in a moist, but well drained soil. There are a number of varieties of Salvia and their needs may vary slightly.

 

Special Care

When the flowered spikes are spent, remove them to encourage additional flowering.

Slavia is a cottage garden favourite, so looks great with Echinacea, Crocosmia, Helenium, Aster and many more!
