Peas shoots are great to grow with kids!

They are really easy to plant and with the harvesting time being as short as 1 week, they bring fast results too! Follow our simple How To Guide and your first crop of pea shoots will be ready to eat in no time!

You Will Need:

Gardening Gloves
Packet of pea seeds
Water Spray
Medium sized pot or trough
Multi-purpose compost

 

Method

  1. Soak the dried peas in water over night.
  2. Put on your gloves.
  3. Fill the trough, stopping 5cm before the top.
  4. Spread the peas onto the surface.
  5. Cover the scattered peas until they are fully covered.
  6. Use the water spray to wet the compost thoroughly.
  7. Place on a sunny windowsill.
  8. Water regularly, don't let the compost dry out.
  9. The shoots can be harvested at any time.
  10. Sometimes cut shoots will regrow from the base.

How to eat

The sweet shoots are perfect as a little snack! They are also perfect in sandwiches and salads!
